There has been a lot of talk about hiring woes in today’s booming job market. In R&R’s State of the Industry study in 2018 and 2019, hiring and retaining employees was identified as the top pain point for restoration contractors. With the unemployment rate sitting at a very steady 3.7%, that’s not new news to anyone, right?
Finding flexible ways to work with your customers while also working closely with other companies is a key to building solid consumer relationships and maintaining a well-known quality business.
In doing some research for this month’s column, I came across the Farmer’s Almanac’s extended forecast for the first portion of 2020. Guess what they’re calling it? Yep – The Polar Coaster.
As I’m writing this, I’m sitting at the R&R table at Violand’s Business Planning Retreat. If you’ve never attended this event before, it’s unique and inspiring; a great place to share ideas and plan for the future. Inside a large banquet hall, tables are set up for restoration and cleaning companies to work together to create their business plan for the following year.
Nine months down, two and half to go. Just like that, 2019 is almost over. So I’m curious how you’re spending the last 90 days (really, less than that by the time you read this issue) of the year?
Visiting restoration companies is one of my very favorite parts of my job. Every one I’ve visited has been unique in its own way, and has practices in place that really help brand the company.
We went from heartbroken to happily ever after in a matter of days. I was convinced that the restoration experts didn’t just save our home. They saved our lives.
