Welcome to the spring print issue of Restoration & Remediation (R&R) Magazine. Before diving into the core of my message, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your dedication, hard work and selflessness. This industry often goes unrecognized, yet you continue to show up with resilience and passion. So, before we look ahead, I want to acknowledge you in the present. Thank YOU!
As I reflect on the industry events, trends and conversations from just the first three months of 2025, one thing is clear: We all care deeply about this industry and its future.
No matter where I go or who I speak with, two themes consistently emerge…controlling the narrative and setting ourselves up for success. The good news? We have control over both.
Consider these questions:
- How can I help advance our industry?
- How can we collaborate to make it better?
- How can I help bridge gaps between subindustries to create more cohesive processes?
These simple questions hold the power to shape our future. You may ask, how does this relate to success? Because by controlling our narrative, we can foster collaboration, not just here at The Experience, but far beyond.
Several exciting initiatives are already underway. Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is developing a bachelor’s program with an emphasis on restoration. Organizations like NORMI, the IICRC and RIA are prioritizing key initiatives, from legislation and certifications to carrier relations.
As we look ahead, let’s leverage our connections and industry events to propel our industry forward. The R&R team and I are here to support you. Feel free to share your ideas, ask for introductions and keep the momentum going. Together, we will continue to make a difference.
Warm regards,
Kayla McGowan
