Ellen Amirkhan, MRC, ISA, CAPP, CRS, - The Rug Tzarina Ellen of Dallas is president of Dallas’ historic Oriental Rug Cleaning Co., Inc., a business founded by her grandfather in 1911. She is a founding member and instructor for the Association of Rug Care Specialists, member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), former president of the ISA North Texas Chapter, former president and board member of the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration and serves as an expert witness for the legal profession. Ellen and Aaron Groseclose co-authored the seminal industry text, A Comprehensive Guide to Oriental and Specialty Rug Cleaning and co-authored the Master Rug Cleaner Program. She was recently appointed by the State of Texas to serve as Regent for Texas Woman’s University.
