R&R Technician Award

Welcome to Restoration & Remediation's inaugural Technician Award, sponsored by Violand Management Associates. The Technician Award celebrates the backbone of our industry, the restoration technician professionals. We are proud to provide them with the visibility and recognition they richly deserve for the challenging but essential and noble work they do.

Research from the Brookings Institute shows that frontline workers tend to earn lower wages than their colleagues. What’s more, technicians are unavoidably more vulnerable to infection as they don’t have the option to work from home. In fact, they are exposed to more health and safety risks than office-based colleagues given the hazards that come with their working environments.

Restoration technicians are the ones who come into the most contact with property owners and policyholders. They are the individuals tasked with providing the actual services that restore lives. They are the faces of the businesses – the true brand ambassadors.

For these reasons and more, R&R is honored to formally celebrate technicians making strides within their organizations and restoration overall.

The winner and runners-up will be determined by a panel of industry peers based on the criteria listed below. They will be notified in mid-September 2023 and must be available for interviews later that month.

The award will be presented at the Violand Business Planning Retreat taking place November 6-8, 2023, in Naples, Florida. The winning Technician’s company will receive up to four (4) free seats at the event. Participating companies will create a customized and comprehensive strategic plan for 2024 and beyond guided by Violand’s Business Coaches. Both programs also provide a variety of peer-to-peer networking opportunities. This is a $2,800 value.

You can nominate anyone who works at any level of the technician field in the restoration and remediation industry who has had an impact in their field and/or within their company, who exhibit qualities such as:

• Leadership
• Career progress
• Clear Passion for the industry
• Exhibits evidence of high character, integrity, and care for their colleagues and clients.

Eligibility

• Technician must have at least 5 years of experience in the restoration industry.
• They should exhibit qualities including, but not limited to, industry experience, effective communication skills and leadership.
• There is no limit to the number of entries each firm or person can submit, and there is no entry fee. But each nomination must be thoroughly filled out.

• Industry leadership and involvement
• Commitment to colleagues and customers
• Thoroughness of the entry
• Worthiness of recognition
• Supporting documentation (images, references, etc.)
