We’ve featured quite a bit of content about bed bugs here in R&R over the past few years, as more restoration contractors have branched off into this field, taking advantage of a growing pest problem. And there’s good news for restoration professionals who already perform this work, or even those who are thinking of getting into it, according to Orkin’s recently released 2014 Bed Bug Cities list.
Specifically, the report states that bed bug business increased 18% in 2014 and about half of all cities showed a rise in bed bug treatments. Recent reports also indicate that Americans spent nearly $450 million to treat beg bud issues in 2013, a huge rise from the $70 million spent just nine years earlier in 2004.
According to the report, here’s a look at the top-10 cities (or regions) with reported bed bug treatments. You can see the entire list by clicking here.
