The Problem:On October 29, Hurricane Sandy made landfall along the mid-Atlantic Eastern seaboard. Although wind damage was extensive, storm surge and associated flooding created hundreds of thousands of water-damaged structures from Delaware to Connecticut, with severe impact in New York and New Jersey.
As floodwaters from Hurricane Sandy receded, homeowners, businesses and municipalities returned to their flood-damaged structures and quickly realized that the problem of water damage was compounded by chemical and microbial contamination.
IICRC is revising ANSI/IICRC S500: 2006 version and developing S600 and S800 as ANSI Standards. BSR is the ANSI Board of Standards Review that reviews and approves Standards as American National Standards.
Legend Brands provided distributors and customers with an opportunity to help raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims from November 1-7 through an interactive social media and e-mail campaign in which Legend Brands offered to donate $1 to the American Red Cross for each Facebook “like” or e-mail open.
