An industrial hygienist asks Firehouse Education’s Annissa Coy, “How can testing consultants reach out to restoration contractors to perform asbestos, mold, or lead testing?”
Restoration professionals do need testing to be performed on jobs. She tells IH and testing professionals, “Be aware restoration & remediation contractors really need testing done now – they don’t have a week or two weeks. So, ask yourself: how quickly can you get to a project and get testing done?”
It’s important for restoration contractors to develop a scope of work or protocol for what needs to be done to decontaminate the environment. Testing and IH professionals can help to create that scope of work.
“These aren’t wants,” Annissa notes, “people are displaced. If you are going to market to restoration professionals, make the timeframe an important part of your marketing.”
