Big news this week for Viking Equipment of Hesperia, Calif. The company is joining forces with DCM Manufacturing Inc., a leading manufacturer of products for the mobile HVAC and industrial heat transfer markets.
The acquisition by DCM will provide Viking additional engineering and capital resources to support the company’s future growth plans.
This strategic partnership is a good fit for both companies, with Viking and DCM sharing an interest in owning a strong competitive position in the restoration and remediation market. Viking founder and owner Mickey Walker will continue to run the company, known for its high-quality air movers, dehumidifiers and carpet cleaning products. DCM’s air movement product line and engineering expertise complements Viking’s offerings, making this acquisition a “win-win” for both organizations.
“In order for Viking to get to the next level, the manufacturing expertise and capital resources of a company like DCM was necessary. We can now offer new products, expand our distributor network and strengthen our customer support capabilities,” Walker said. Viking will retain its industry-recognized corporate identity and will also maintain its current structure, workforce and company location.
According to Pat Hennessy, vice president of sales and marketing for DCM Manufacturing, “The addition of two ISO 9001-certified manufacturing facilities in Texas and Mexico will provide expanded production capabilities and support Viking’s continued growth,” Hennessy said.
