World of Concrete – A First for IICRC
In early February, the IICRC made its first appearance at the World of Concrete show in Las Vegas, and the event was an all-out success. Because concrete affects many of its inter-related industries, the show provided great networking opportunities with those in the maintenance, drying, inspection, indoor air quality, standards certification and academia fields.
IICRC Transition Update
In mid-February, the IICRC transitioned to a new headquarters location at its Global Resource Center in Las Vegas and changed management firms to Metacred, a management company specializing exclusively in credentialing programs.
“Moving the Institute management operations to our Global Resource Center has long been a part of our strategic vision,” said Tony Wheelwright, IICRC Chairman. “While there are a number of benefits, a primary benefit is offering our key stakeholders better access to the Institute operations in our own building with a lot of space to grow into. It’s an exciting time.”
The move will also improve the IICRC’s proximity to some of the industry’s largest tradeshows. It is the Institute’s goal to further develop the Global Resource Center and provide additional testing and certification resources while capitalizing on attendance at these events.
Through the transition, the IICRC expects to improve overall operational efficiencies, including enhancements to its exam development and review process. The Institute will also review its current certifications and standards, and benchmark them against comparable programs in related industries to ensure that it continues to provide best-in-class programs and advance its mission: “To establish and advance globally recognized standards and certifications for the inspection, cleaning, restoration, and installation industries.”
