The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) has announced the adoption of a new Mission Statement and Pillars of Engagement for the organization, according to a press release. According to IAQA officials, they will serve as guiding principles for the association’s strategic planning and overall operations.

The new Mission Statement is “IAQA is dedicated to bringing practitioners together to prevent and solve indoor environmental problems for the benefit of customers and the public.” The Pillars of Engagement include Member Engagement, Communication and Connection, Education, Operational Excellence, and Collaboration. “These are areas that have been a focus of IAQA for several years. Codifying them as Pillars that will guide the organization and its members provide benchmarks on how we can improve as an organization, how we can better serve our members, and how we can best engage both the community of practitioners and the customers they serve,” said Donald M. Weekes, IAQA President.

“IAQA’s new mission statement reflects both changes that have occurred organically within IAQA as it has evolved over the past 17 years, as well as a direction that reflects the will of the membership,” said Glenn Fellman, IAQA executive Director. “Our new Mission Statement does not stray very far from the spirit our past one, but the new Pillars of Engagement give precise meaning to how that mission will be fulfilled." In conjunction with the release of the Mission Statement and Pillars, IAQA has launched several new programs bolstering its activity, including a membership drive.
