The Property Industry Conference will be held on Sunday, March 17 in Boston, at the Hilton Boston Back Bay from 11:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., - right before the PLRB/LIRB Conference, according to a press release. There will be a networking lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the program’s first event begins at 12:45 p.m. Cost to attend the meeting is $60 per person in advance and $70 at the door, and includes the networking luncheon and program. Attendees can register online at www.propertyindustryconference.org.
The meeting will focus on contents restoration after fire and water damage. There will be two panel discussions at the conference: one comprising insurance representatives and a second panel composed of restoration professionals. Speakers on the restoration panel include: April Hann Lanford of the Conservation Center; Myron Blankenbaker of CRDN; Gerry McGonagle, CR, from BELFOR USA; and Barb Jackson, CR, from Total Contentz. Panelists will be asked questions on contents restoration in order to elicit different perspectives on the topics. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session.
There will also be an update on the RIA Fire Damage Standard related to contents, which will begin development later this year. Attendees will be asked to offer input on the standard as part of the discussion.
“Contents restoration is an important aspect of the property restoration industry,” said PIC Chairman Jeff Brinkman. “Conference attendees will provide important input and feedback on the development of future standards and help us to find areas of common ground for all stakeholders involved in the property damage industry.”
