Evans Garment Restoration will host its 1st annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the American Red Cross at Orchard Hills Golf Club (600 Hwy 16, Newnan, GA) on Friday September 24th. Evans Garment Restoration will donate all proceeds from the event to the local chapter of the American Red Cross, which has offered compassionate emergency response services to those in need since 1881.

The event, sponsored by AirTran, Budweiser and Hooters, will begin with registration from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The tournament format is a shotgun start and will begin at 11:00 a.m. There will be hole in one, closest to the pin and longest drive prizes awarded throughout the day and two lucky golfers will get a shot at winning $100,000.

A reception with dinner and drinks will be held at the Evans Garment Restoration facility (78 Marion Beavers Rd., Sharpsburg, GA) after the tournament. Awards and raffle prizes will be given out, including a Grand Prize of two roundtrip tickets to Las Vegas courtesy of AirTran Airways accompanied by a 3 night stay in the Hooters Hotel.

“10 years ago, I lost everything in a fire when I was away for Christmas with my family,” said Tournament Director Karri Kendall, Account Manager at Evans. “I had no renters insurance, it was 17 degrees out and I had a 5-year-old daughter to take care of. The Red Cross was there for me when I needed help the most, so I am very grateful that Evans can give back to such an important and noble organization.”

The cost to attend the tournament is $100 per golfer. There will be an additional $25 per player fee added for golfers registering after September 19. For additional details, call Karri Kendall at 678-850-8524.

Evans Garment Restoration will also host its 1st annual Golf Invitational benefiting The Sunshine Kids Foundation at Bulle Rock Golf Course (320 Blenheim Lane, Havre De Grace, MD) on Monday September 27th. The Sunshine Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with cancer. They have provided quality group activities, trips, events and emotional support to children receiving cancer treatment in hospitals all over North America since 1982.

Registration will take place on the day of the event at 8:00 a.m., followed by breakfast and driving range and video lessons with a PGA teaching professional. The format of the event is a Shotgun Start “Ryder Cup Style” Captains Choice Scramble, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. Dinner and an awards ceremony will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. including a silent auction and a guest speaker. Several children who have benefited from The Sunshine Kids will be in attendance with their families.

“I’m thrilled we’re in a position to benefit The Sunshine Kids and their families,” said Chip Cunningham, President of Evans Mid-Atlantic. “They had an enormous impact in my hometown of Houston, and as a volunteer I saw firsthand how much their efforts mean to the families they support. I’ve never worked with a more worthy charity or seen a staff so dedicated to those they serve. As they continue to grow, I think it’s awesome that those plans include our mid-Atlantic region.”
