(VANCOUVER, Wash.) March 23, 2011 – The Institute of
Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)
announces the formation of a consensus body for development of the IICRC
S540 Standard and Reference Guide for Trauma and Crime Scene Clean Up. Jim
Holland, IICRC Standards Committee Chairman, announced that the committee is
now accepting applications for the consensus body and its chapter committees.
“This committee will be made up of people directly and materially
affected by the standard,” said Holland. “The standards committee will be
accepting applications during the next 45 days for the consensus body, which
will be made up of no more than 15 members from all available and interested
segments of the industry.”
The 15-member standard consensus body will meet
approximately four times per year, with most of the work being completed online
and via conference calls. The first in-person meeting will take place in July
2011. The new standard for trauma and crime scene clean up is set to be
completed in approximately 36 months.
