PEORIA - Reconstruction of Thomas Jefferson Primary School is scheduled to start in two weeks, but work will not be finished when school starts in the fall.
Rather, teachers and students likely will be welcomed back to the school in January, after winter break, officials with District 150 learned Wednesday during a building committee meeting.
“This is a very aggressive schedule to have this done in December of this year,” said Dave Ryon, District 150’s projects director, notingrestoration projects of this sizetypically take between 18 and 24 months.
