WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 3, 2008 – DuPont Building
Innovations announces price increases up to 15 percent in the United States,
effective Sept.30, or as contracts permit, for DuPont™ Weatherization Systems
products. Due to the accelerating
price increases of oil-based feedstocks and energy, raw materials continue to
be subject to significant cost increases.
“DuPont Building Innovations is taking these actions in
response to a step-change increase in raw material, energy and transportation
costs,” said Todd Apple, DuPont Building Innovations director for the
Americas. “We have worked to
insulate our customers from these inflationary cost pressures by absorbing the
cost increases, driving efficiencies in our processes, and by cutting
costs. However, given the
magnitude of the realized cost increases, DuPont is no longer able to fully
absorb or otherwise address these higher costs.”
