Nine family businesses were honored in the fourth annual Wisconsin Family Business of the Year Award banquet held May 17 in Madison. Three grand awards were presented along with six special awards.

K-tech Kleening Systems, Inc. was presented with one of the six special awards, “The Good Neighbor” Award. This award was given in recognition of the company being good neighbors to the environment and the community. Craig Kersemeier, president of K-tech, stated that, “This Award exemplifies that it is not what companies take out of the communities they serve, but what they put back in to them.”

In 2006 the company began a “Be Green” campaign that is designed to help customers reduce the use of harmful products, save energy, and to create a more sustainable environment. K-tech has also provided more than $100,000 in donations and services to community organizations.
