“Over a decade ago, WDT conducted a market survey with adjusters and claims managers and found a huge need for an accurate hail reporting system that could determine hail fall at a specific address, regardless of human observation,” said Matt Gaffner, director of forensics, WDT. “Several of WDT’s senior managers had co-written a radar-based algorithm during their prior employment by NOAA’s National Severe Storms Laboratory and this algorithm became a key factor in HailTrax’ success as ‘the hail tool in the adjuster toolbox.”
